Cinderella (2015) the most passive, unlikable fairy-tale protagonist

The story of "Cinderella" follows the fortunes of young Ella whose merchant father remarries following the tragic death of her mother. Keen to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother Lady Tremaine and her daughters Anastasia and Drizella into the family home. But when Ella's father suddenly and unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. Finally relegated to nothing more than a servant girl covered in ashes, and spitefully renamed Cinderella since she used to work in the cinders, Ella could easily begin to lose hope. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella is determined to honor her mother's dying words and to "have courage and be kind." She will not give in to despair nor despise those who abuse her. And then there is the dashing stranger she meets in the woods. Unaware that he is really a prince, not merely an employee at the palace, Ella finally feels she has met a kindred soul. It appears as if her ...

Statham kicks ASS......Again! - Wild Card (2015)

Why watch this film? Jason Statham and not much else. the plot is nothing special and does not differ from the Burt Reynolds 1986 version but it seems Reynolds did not kick as much ass as Statham. it's 2015 and the violence has been amped up as the audience demands more. like the ancient Romans we must be entertained. the movie moves along at a snail's pace and you almost die of boredom waiting for something to happen. wait for it cuz when the ass kicking starts it is well worth the wait. ASS KICKING is the only reason to watch a Statham movie. he is magnetic on the screen and opens a can of whoop ass so well. the violence is cartoonish and it amazes that in the end he gets away with all the mayhem he leaves behind. you must suspend your disbelief cuz this kind of thing doesn't happen for real. that's why we go to the movies - www.movieshared.net

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water (2015) Movie review

www.movieshared.net - If cartoon series SpongeBob SquarePants maybe one among the foremost winning children's programs from the last decades. The series was in 1999 (!) Was launched and has already vie 10 seasons on the favored children's channel record player. The yellow sponge with the foremost annoying laugh from the tv history is therefore still staggeringly standard among youngsters. However, the transmitter closely that youngsters age and gain new interests. For the life preservation of the program it's additionally vital to once during a whereas to draw in a replacement generation of kids on board. A second motion-picture show once eleven years therefore offers a wonderful chance.

Judging by the poster and promotional feels like the acquainted cartoon character has undergone a significant transformation, however really, the bulk of the film remains within the same acquainted drawing form of the program. SpongeBob should be outlined as glorious burger bakeshop for man. Krabs, and organism competition concocts a series tricks to steal the key Krabby Patty direction. once the direction is suddenly gone, chaos breaks come in swimming costume Bottom and draw SpongeBob and organism resolute realize the key formula. Why nobody (restaurant owner man. Krabs including) that formula doesn't grasp his head could be a mystery.

The film raises still additional why-questions. Why the moving-picture show in 3D is discharged whereas half a two-dimensional cartoon-style animated example. Or maybe even additional pressing: what the hell to Antonio Banderas touched to should populate the live-action scenes? Since the film is aimed toward a young audience, falls square measure quite laughable performance will still be forgiven, however you marvel why associate actor of his caliber don't like a tougher role would love to venture.

Anyway, Banderas plays Captain Burger Beard. A fierce pirate United Nations agency encompasses a wizardly book that he by writing will have an effect on all events in swimming costume Bottom. This wins him the key Krabby Patty formula for his mobile eating place and it's up to the illustrious sea-faring friends to regain the direction once more. Spongebob and his mates therefore simply return onto land for a final confrontation with the villain. you'd like some viewers could feel robbed, were it not for the trendy animated scenes onto land as toe-curling and bland that you simply longs on to the cartoon.
Outside the unsuccessful trip onto land contains SpongeBob moving-picture show specifically still quite some amusing moments. rather like within the cartoon series the film doesn't take itself terribly seriously. The story jumps unendingly from one issue to a different, and each currently then there square measure a couple of amazingly fun (meta) jokes over. however once you 0.5 hours later utterly overwhelmed down by hysterical screams and banging music runs out once more, you understand that there's certainly a reason why the cartoon however twenty minutes per episode lasts. Parents, be warned.

The Wedding Ringer (2015) The best comedy in many years

www.movieshared.net - I enter to the movie to accompany a very depressed friend; my expectation were low and I was pleasantly surprised and will see it again with my wife because I believe it is really worth seen it at least twice. There are two kinds of comedies; the ones that make you laugh and that's it (simple escapism) and the ones that make you think. TWR belongs to this last group. Of the many comedies I saw in previous years; 50% at least were really bad; another 40% mediocre and just a few really worth remembering ; TWR belongs to this group. The main subject is so absurd that could only be real. Hart's character Jimmy is a "BEST FRIEND FOR HIRE" (some scenes show him doing speeches in different places making people laugh, smile or cry). Gad's Doug is a lonely hard working but uninteresting person ; incapable of convince any of his acquaintances to attend the wedding. The problem is that there are only two weeks left and he already created an imaginary profile of his non-existent friends. Doug finds about Jim and ask him to provide services as BF plus get another 6 more friends. The task is far from simple; but Jim take it as a challenge (and for a substantial amount of money) but explain Doug that this is a business relation; there is no real friendship here and everything is just a lie. Most of the gags are visual but still there is a lot of swearing and some gross jokes just on the lower limit of bad taste. Many funny situations occur; none of them forced. There are no scenes of Hart alone doing some silly routine just to fill time (as in many other comedies). In fact; the moments he is alone; is on serious situations and his acting is superb. There are some jokes so unexpected and savages that you will keep laughing even out of the cinema. In general; the pace is quite balanced and the ending predictable but not 100%. In any case it is the logical ending. If you think about the idea of BF for hire; is quite realistic. Children in USA schools are separated from their friends every year since PRE-K to HIGH SHOOL (apparently to avoid gangs). How could it be possible to have a "BEST FRIEND" when your only opportunity is in college or perhaps in your neighborhood (which is not always likely). So; if you do not have something that really cares for you; how do you expect somebody to take care of the pretty absurd wedding protocols like dinner rehearsals, speech preparation (or even videos), tuxedos rentals, decorations and food (even sauce) testings plus the bachelor party. This movie was written and directed by the writers (one of them) of "THE BREAK UP"; a comedy I laughed a lot but had a lot between the lines. Well this one will make you laugh even more; but the main themes are tough.

What is really a wedding ? A celebration of love or just a big farewell party for people who do not want to be alone anymore without really love involved. Why we dedicate our lives to material things and success and loss our youth years ?. In brief; this is best comedy I saw in many years; but talks about a lot of serious issues. Do not loss time and see it.

Paddington (2014) Great Fun for the Whole Family

www.movieshared.net - "Paddington" is about a young bear from Darkest Peru who goes to London looking for a new home after an earthquake destroys his old home. There he meets the Brown family who takes him in and his adventure begins.

From the trailers, I had low expectations for this movie. I only went to see it because of the positive reviews and I am glad I did. This was a really fun movie with some great performances from the likes of Hugh Bonneville (Mr. Brown), Ben Whishlaw (Paddington) and Julie Walters (Mrs. Bird) to name a few. The movie had a good and enjoyable mix of slapstick and subtle comedy. Although I found the story very predictable, I can't really fault it for that as it was still enjoyable and worked for this movie.

This movie is fun for both kids and adults. It's funny, heart-warming, well written and acted and I walked out entertained.

Taken 3 (2014) Not a bad end to a fun trilogy

www.movieshared.net - Taken 3 is a step down from Taken 2, itself a lesser film than the original. But that is to be expected and forgiven. The title could be considered an unimaginative misnomer, but it makes marketing sense.

Aside from the part of Stuart (husband to Famke Janssen's Lenore), the casting is consistent. The addition of Forest Whitaker as a smart cop is for me something of a saving grace since Taken 3 offers up absurdities without question. On reflection, however, the plot has enough coherence to do the trilogy justice. Moreover, it is a joy to see Liam Neeson in this role again.

The director Olivier Megaton has an irksome penchant for frenetic, up-close, disorienting action sequences whereby shots are rarely longer than two seconds. He was a little better in this regard for Taken 2, which had the benefit of superior choreography.

Another personal point of contention is the casting of Sam Spruell as the top Russian villain. He has not an imposing physical constitution and quite frankly brings to mind Jim Carrey, who sported the same haircut in the Dumb and Dumber movies. Not at all what I want in a villain.

I generally enjoy the films I see

The Song (2014) Best film with a musical soul of the decade

www.movieshared.net - Raw, real, & romantic. A must see. Best film with a musical soul of the decade. Cineamatography is beautifully executed. Acting is well done. Masterful storytellung. A movie that promises to be a benchmark and set a new standard for faith based films. This one will disturb the co fortsble and comfort the disturbed. The music was like a character in the film. The musical performances were well polished and professional. Grapples real temptations of life on the road while giving an example of redemption and hope.

The film is the sexy, sleek, and unsanitized. Many chrisitans may bash the film while secular audiences may likely flock to support the film. The secual chemistry between the lead actors is palatable enough to strike terror in legalistic church goers while peaking interest in the souls that have strayed from the faith. It's siren call may just be a lighthouse on the shore for those looking for a lifeline for love.

Film Blackhat (2015) A good movie about the blackhat world

www.movieshared.net - First, we intended to see a movie about hackers and computers, not superhero fantasy and aliens from another world. It's a good thing too, because that's what this movie is about.
I enjoyed the filming style, it really set the mood which was much more interestingly done with only available light throughout the movie. I kept finding myself trying to figure out how Mann got that grainy look. I was constantly impressed with the scene's ultra realistic appearance.

I thought the story held true and, like the acting, wasn't overblown. The characters were all well crafted to be a mix of attributes with the challenges of being less than superheroes and still managing to accomplish the task at hand in a real world. I appreciate a movie which sets out to have the gritty realism of real life then portrays the story as something that can really happen. Mann and cast did exceptionally well at portraying the involved cultures (American, Chinese, Malay, Indonesian) as they actually are without resorting to some caricature stereotype often seen.
In short, Blackhat is believable, dramatic, realistic and scary in it's potential accuracy. Good story, good acting, good realism and really great camera work. I am thankful we ignored the reviews from the video gaming crowd and went to see this one anyway. We walked to the car thoroughly entertained having seen this one!

American Sniper (2015) Powerful and Poignant

www.movieshared.net - I can't remember a movie in the last decade, that was as riveting and captivating as "American Sniper." I kept seeing the trailer on TV and when I finally went to see it, I was already jacked-up...and it delivered.

A+ Script A+ Director A+ Lead Actor A+ Supporting Actors A+ Cinematographer

I don't give a flying crap about anybody's politics when it comes to making movies. If they're great films, they're great films period. I've been in the film Industry for 33 years and I was deeply impressed with Eastwood's take on a story of constant moral dilemma, vs Patriotic duty.

Here's a guy that was motivated to defend our world and country against Psychotic Terrorists killing innocent people all over the world...while living on the edge of fatherhood. The inner conflict and balance of creating such a powerful reality, was right on the money.
Eastwood, Cooper and the screenwriter made a great team...which eventually became a great film.

Big Hero 6 (2014) fantastic film for anyone

www.movieshared.net - Back in 2009, Disney purchased Marvel Comics for four billion dollars. Shocking and surprising the world, many fans of both sides were curious whether Disney would make an animation film based on a group of characters from the comics. Three years later, Director Don Hall approached John Lasseter on making a film with Marvel Characters and found the Big Hero 6, a comic book series that even the most well known of comics didn't know who they were. In fact they were so obscure that Marvel themselves even forgot that they had the characters.

Marvel gave Disney the liberty to change the characters so that they could be seen as a Disney Animation Film. And the result is simply refreshing.

Big Hero 6 is a beautiful film, showcasing how much animation has become. The east and west coast mash up of San Fransokyo combines to make such a spectacular scenery, that the city may as well be a character to the film.

The cast is also fun to watch. One annoyance films try to do is by shoving the diversity of characters in your face. Big Hero 6 doesn't do that, instead the focus is on the characters themselves and not the diversity, making it enjoyable to watch. One of the biggest highlights is the girls of the cast. I took my 3 nieces with my friends and I, and they loved how they were smart, enjoyable and didn't need to fall for a man. The cast is truly relatable, whether you are precise like Wasabi, positive like Honey Lemon or just a guy who loves media like Fred.

Of course the star of the film is the robot of Baymax. Any scene that he is in steals the show, whether it is his introduction or his care for Hiro and Company.

The Villain by far is one of the best villains in recent Disney history, he doesn't sing, dance or monologue, he simply gets the job done.

The film showcases the action greatly by giving large scopes and music that fits exceptionally well. Emotionally, the film captures the audience by showcasing the bond of brotherhood between Hiro and his older brother Tadashi, as well as his friend Baymax who is like a Surrogate brother to our main hero.

A strong lesson in this film, is that family can be more than blood related, you have friends, who become part of that. That really showed how much I cared for the loved ones around me, especially my older brother who is in the military, creating robots and fixing medical equipment.

If there was one complaint I would give, I would've like to see a little bit more about the rest of the team. Other than that, Big Hero 6 is a heartwarming tale that captures something for the entire family.

Big Hero 6 is another showing that Disney can continue to make great films after the juggernaut that was Frozen. This film showcases that the Disney Revival (Films such as The Princess and the Frog, Tangled, Wreck-it-Ralph and Frozen) is not over yet, and I cannot wait to see what the next film has to offer.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) Full HD 720p

www.movieshared.net - "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York" is young Macaulay Culkin's second greatest hour in the series as Kevin McCallister, who has to learn to be a man again on the mean streets of the Big Apple after being separated from his family once more. He checks into a swank Manhattan hotel (where Donald Trump is apparently staying at too). He's pursued again by comic bad guys Harry and Marv (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern), and director Chris Columbus and screenwriter John Hughes keep the action and laughs coming. Tim Curry also appears as a concierge who has to prove that Kevin is on his own, and Brenda Fricker is the pigeon lady who watches over Kevin's little shoulder. There is another tricks & traps showdown at the end, which keeps the slapstick and comic violence at an all-time high.

Orphan Black - This is excellent TV Series!!!

www.movieshared.net - Not at all sure WHY someone wrote that this is obscene. There isn't bad language, no T&A, no lurid sex, it's just high voltage, very hip and modern television. It also has great music and mind-twisting story lines mixed with witty dialog. The premise is unique. I don't want to spoil anything but after three episodes it's apparent that what I thought was going on is much more intense and crazy that I'd originally imagined. If you want something different and can go into this appreciating a fresh idea, you're in for a treat. Tatiana Maslany proves to be a very capable young actress. The rest of the cast is equally as entertaining. Enjoy!

Orange is the New Black - Watch The complete first season

www.movieshared.net - I loved this series. I watched in one single day. So good. Such an amazing story with awesome flashbacks to tell you how the characters are there. So Piper Chapman, a woman in New York is engaged to a man named Larry Bloom. She is sentenced to fifteen months in prison for her past relationship with a drug smuggler. Drop-dead gorgeous Laura Prepon plays this drug dealing girlfriend, Alex Vause.

Each episode title is said by a character in the episode, which I love. So this one, "I Wasn't Ready," is said by Piper when she is taking her ID picture and Mendez takes the picture before she is ready to take it.

We meet the crew. The awesome crew of inmates. This show really made me feel like prison wouldn't be all that bad because of how much fun they have. But of course this is just a series. So Piper Chapman doesn't have a very good beginning in prison.

Piper sits with her roommates at one of their meals. She meets this woman named, "Red." She is a Russian woman who has a very long name so she is just referred to as, "Red." Piper makes a comment and says that the food is disgusting. Bad mistake because Red runs the kitchen. She makes all the food.

So now Piper is not served food. She tries to apologize to Red but Red does not accept. Piper sits down and notices she has a sandwich for her now. She is very happy so she opens the sandwich only to find a bloody tampon in the sandwich. I almost barfed. Oh. My. God.

Loved the flashbacks here of Piper and her family. So she runs outside to recover and shivering to see someone walking up to her. The camera pans up to show Alex. Alex Vause. The drug smuggling girlfriend!!! You see a lot of Alex in the flashbacks! But I didn't expect to see her in the present! Piper screams as Alex is standing there staring at her. Episode ends it is such a cliffhanger. I was forever hooked after that.

10/10- amazing series premiere

Game of Thrones: Season 1, Full Episode

www.movieshared.net - Game of Thrones offers an epic on the scale of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings and doesn't dumb-down the subject matter; this is fantasy for grown-ups.

Visually this is on a par with many a cinematic effort. The effects which create castles and cities are of a high standard and the opening scene involving a foreboding, snow-covered wood was hauntingly beautiful. The costumes are superb; very original, with unusual and authentic-looking hair and makeup designs. The cinematography is simply beautiful, with some amazing wide shots (courtesy of the special effects) of the interesting landscapes on display, ranging from damp, Gothic castles to sweeping seascapes and deserts.

This episode offered the perfect balance of dark scares, humour, drama and character-building. I'd heard beforehand it would be full of sex, violence and swearing. I thought the amount of each was entirely in proportion with the type of series this is and didn't find it gratuitous at all. I have never read the books but despite the complexity, with many families introduced and their myriad connections to each other unclear at this early stage, I didn't find the content overly complex or hard to follow.

The acting was good - not excellent but easily of the standard required. The impression created is that this will improve as the series progresses. All in all this was an excellent opening episode and I look forward to more.

Blended (2014) A touching comedy

www.movieshared.net - The lower ratings on this film are too harsh. This is actually a sweet comedy where two individuals who initially repel each other grow to like each other. The added touches are the children in this film, who are not only hilarious but also bring out the parental qualities in Drew and Sandler's characters.

The holiday setting in this movie is also fantastic and adds a bit more quality to the film. The backing singers who appeared every now and then made me chuckle. The various activities that you find on a 5 star holiday are all here, which really makes you want to visit this resort.

Overall it was really enjoyable to watch, I would highly recommend it

Edge of Tomorrow (2014) his movie doesn't think you're an idiot.

www.movieshared.net -  Edge of Tomorrow (EOT for me) will be the most surprising blockbuster of this year (maybe along with X-Men: Days of Future Past) for doing its job so well that beats every expectation about what it has to offer. A storyline about one man that is shown to us doing the "same" things every time could be dull. But EOT has a thoughtful script full of turns and fun that entertains and allows to Cruise to do new things inside that particular Groundhog Day.

I wont spoil anything because the movie is full of valuable twists, surprisingly good chemistry between Cruise and Emily Blunt (Full Metal B**ch) and it has an involving script aside of the spectacular action sequences. The first one in the movie is totally amazing. But the rest is as that good. The movie clearly develops in the action and the riveting pace. It offers what a great blockbuster should be and it reaches that superb goal.

Also Tom Cruise gives his best performance in so many time. Maybe, I'm not joking, this is his best performance ever. For the first time he is not doing an smiling hero. He is a coward. He is a scared and inexperienced soldier who has to learn to be more skillful (and to escape from his personal loop) every time he returns to the "same" day. And Cruise is wonderful in that role. You really don't recognize him. Forget his frequent smiling, his heroic or possible macho topics. This could be a new and groundbreaking role inside his career even if you are not a big fan of him (I'm not going as far as saying that this is his best movie or the most enjoyable one of all, but this movie could be one of his best ones too). And when a movie has a star doing his job properly and much better than expected, a great script and a riveting pace (the movie is never boring) the whole concept has the job done. And that's the case of EOT. Also the stellar performances from Bill Paxton and Brendan Gleeson are truly good.
In fact I'm glad that this one came after "Oblivion". That one was good, but this one is different and much better. Don't expect "Oblivion 2" or its same style because you will be wrong.

Please, trust me and go to the theater to enjoy this wonderful, original and surprising entertainment. It delivers much more than you could expect, delivers the best Cruise (in so many time that I personally think that this is Cruise at his best) and delivers a clever story with a good twist. Enjoy!

Gandhi (1982) Great Man, Great Story, Great Film!

www.movieshared.net -  This is one that absolutely must go on everyone's "must see" list. One of the truly greatest movies ever made. For those who found it "boring" or "too long," you folks need to just stick to stuff like "Star Wars," "Terminator," "Spiderman," or perhaps reality TV would be more your cup of tea.

For those who like to actually see real human history come to life on the screen, "Gandhi" is a true masterpiece for all times. A excellent summary of one of the greatest and most interesting lives of the 20th. century!

I find it odd that aside from a fine performance in "Shindler's List," that Ben Kingsley has really been a major disappointment as an actor following his role as "Gandhi." Perhaps like George C. Scott in "Patton," he was destined to play just one truly great role as an actor. And this was it!

For those who keep mentioning that Kingsley is "English," well, yes he is, but he is also "Anglo-Indian." His father is from India. In fact his father was born in the same small sea-coast town as Mahatma Gandhi! While filming the movie in the small towns of rural India, there were those older people who actually remembered seeing the original Gandhi who collapsed in shock when they saw Kingsley in his makeup. Hundreds became convinced that he actually was the Mahatma, returned! Also interesting is that Kingsley was born just after the asassination of Gandhi. I mean that's just a tad spooky, no....?

Shooter (2007) Recipe for a fantastic, intelligent action film

www.movieshared.net - I came into this film with loads of skepticism, but I came out feeling completely the opposite. Shooter takes you into the life of retired Marine Scout Sniper Bob Lee Swagger, who retired after a mission went completely wrong. He is called back to give information as to how someone would be able to kill the president from over a mile away. He ends up being framed for the attempted murder of the president, and the murder of an archbishop of Ethopia, and must prove his innocence, at any cost.

Mark Wahlberg does a perfect job of portraying a detached veteran who has no respect for the government, and really brings the character to you. He is backed up by an outstanding Michael Pena and Danny Glover who add to the film like no one else could. The only real complaint is that Kate Mara's character, the widowed wife of Swagger's best friend seems to only play two emotions, distressed, or hysterical, and it does get annoying, though she plays the part well. Elias Kosteas did a good job playing Jack Payne, a borderline psychotic government agent, though at times his part seems over the top.

All in all this film blew me away and I couldn't have loved it more. Anyone who is into action movies of any kind definitely needs to see this movie.

American Hustle (2013) Hustle in to see...

www.movieshared.net -  American Hustle A amazingly entertaining and engaging experience. A successful (in my opinion) juxtaposition of art and entertainment. A wonderfully acted and directed film.

Full disclosure: I loved both 'The Fighter' and 'Silver Linings Play', plus the cast are some of my favourite actors working in motion pictures today. So, I went in with a bias and a high level of anticipation for this film. This can sometimes work against you as a viewer as your expectations are too higher and you are disappointed with the results.

I can say that I was not disappointed and absolutely loved the film. People take different experiences and sensibilities with them when they see movies, and mine led me to be engaged and empathetic towards the characters. Their story interested me and I came out of the cinema thoroughly enjoying myself.

My only criticism is that it felt it lacked a little something with story. After seeing the film I did read that a lot of the film was improvised and Christian Bale commented to David O'Russell that this would change the story. His response was that he cared about the characters more than the story (paraphrasing). On reflection this is evident as the characters and acting are first class.

I by no means acclaim this to be a perfect movie or the best movie ever made, but it worked for me. I loved it!
