The Dead (2010) This movie is excellent!!!!!!!

www.movieshared.net - This movie i a breath of fresh air for the zombie genre. its very realistic and compassionate toward the characters. be sides the first two night of the living dead's, dawn of the dead, and day of the dead (and of course a few Italian films), the other "...of the dead" movies are laughable and illogical. you could tell that the writers, producers and director cared about this film and its characters. in America, we can get named and no named actors and put it on the big screen make 100 million dollars off crap. its actually sad. foreign movies are done with more care and respect. i would love to see a Hollywood movie done to this standard. this i definitely a must see in the zombie genre!!! i hope to see more like it!!

Dance of the Dead (2008) This was a fun film

 

www.movieshared.net - This was a fun film and I enjoyed watching it. I'm actually really surprised to see negative comments about the film. I saw the preview a few weeks ago and when I watched the movie, it was just the kind of thing I thought it was going to be. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the quality of the movie.

The acting, the humor, the gore, the action - it was all balanced very well. The film never took itself to seriously, but at the same time never wandered off into the ridiculous. Some of the gore was just over the top enough to add to the humor and some of the drama was just serious enough to make some of the scenes touching.

I cared about the characters, I laughed, I was surprised by certain events in the plot - the movie was good. True, it wasn't Shaun of the Dead, but that movie was perfect and genius. This movie was fun to watch and seemed to be exactly what it was setting out to be. Everyone involved, from the writer to the director to the actors to the special effects guys did a great job.

I watch online this movie, but I definitely plan on buying it to add to my collection.

Zombieland - Watch it from a Fresh point of view

www.movieshared.net - When i heard about Zombieland the series thought of giving it a try; since i liked the movie i thought it wouldn't be a bad idea, specially after i found out the characters have the same nicknames.

To be honest at first i wasn't impressed after i realized the characters and their attribute are quite different than the one i saw in the movie, and i didn't think it could live up to that extend; but if you don't consider all those small changes, it could be considered a good dramatic-funny series.

The actors can't live up to the same level as the ones in the movie but, if you consider them as fresh new characters they might fall right into place. Actors are chosen wisely, they appear to be the right person for each character, but at some point they might do little too much. (I am not a professional actor so i leave you to judge that by yourself)

The messages in the movie, the events and the places where the scene took place was impressive although the new and improved running zombies changed the game quite much :).

Overall i liked it and i hope it continues to make me laugh and think at the same time. And believe me when i say it does make you laugh.

I (2015) Brilliant movie , unbelievable acting

www.movieshared.net - The film is worth the 3 years wait. If this movie can be compared to a painting, Vikram is the paper, paint and brush with which Shankar has drawn this picture.

P.C.Sreeram and A.R.R have done a great job but it is one and only Vikram who stands as the man of the movie, he has given all his to give life to Shankar's storyline.

The story does seem predictable at times but still makes the audience thrilled with its grandeur and extravagant visuals. Picture perfect movie with a perfect acting by Vikram

Amy Jackson has done a pretty fair job compared against the young bunch of leading ladies in Tamil film industry.

Santhanam's one liners makes the audience burst into laughs every time he appears on screen.

9/10 for movie but 10/10 for Vikram's acting

Vampire Academy (2014) Everyone's a Critic

www.movieshared.net -  I have read the books. I love Richelle Mead's books-and when I say this, I mean it. I have read every one of her books (I STILL can't believe Georgina Kincaid doesn't have her own show yet!). However, placing my love for her as an author aside, I went to see the movie with the notion that it would be terrible and cheesy (you saw the main trailer right?!). It was nothing like what was in the trailer. It was snarky, spunky and over all a good film.

HOWEVER- I'm sure you've read otherwise. I've seen the critic's reviews. I've read about how terrible (very few) people thought it was. Let me explain it a little. They have NO idea what they're talking about! (okay, that's my opinion and I don't mean to invalidate any one else's but c'mon, it's awesome!) As far as visual affects go, it's about as bad as any lower budget film. Seriously does anyone REMEMBER the first Harry Potter? Look at the last one-total difference. Budgeting can change a film completely. Which is Exactly what we will see happen when this series really takes off. If you haven't read the books, I strongly recommend talking to someone who has, they can explain things you may have missed or don't quite understand. I don't think that is a flaw in the movie either. We see films that aren't adaptations from novels and miss things, or don't have any clue what really happened until we watch it again (maybe twice?). Who hasn't watch a film again and said 'OH! I get it now'. To wrap this up I'd like to say that this movie is done really well.NO it does not EXACTLY follow every sentence in the book, but they've summarized and portrayed elements that were probably really difficult to write/act/direct. I also take comfort in the fact that the next books just get better! And I imagine that over time, the movies will get larger and larger budgets, and will get new writers and more production staff (in addition to the current ones, not replacing) in order to create the world in it's entirety for the movie audiences. It was a great film- don't knock it till you try it, at least that's what momma says ;)

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) - They saved the best for last

 

Movieshared.net - Obviously, I'm aware of the fact that the Lord of the Rings trilogy is actually one giant movie, but since it was released in parts, that's how I'm judging them. The Return Of The King is the final chapter, and since it is the climax and resolution of the epic journey, it has a little more intensity and urgency than the previous installments.

At this point everyone has come to know and love all of the characters, and the stakes have become tremendously high. Kingdoms are at their knees, and the only two characters who can save the day are getting weaker and weaker. The tension was very high in this episode and I can honestly say that out of all 3 this was the only one that had me on the edge of my seat. There were many memorable scenes (one of my favourites including the part with the giant spider)that made this the classic that it is sure to stay for decades to come.

This is the longest of the series, mostly because of the ending that seems to last a while. This was a good ending, and I can see why Frodo did what he did. He, and us the audience, have gone through an incredible ordeal and I think we needed that 20 minute linger. When the battle is over, and the celebrations have ended, there is a sad emptiness felt. The films spanned over 3 years, there have been the extended cuts of course, but after that, it's all over. Peter Jackson gave us an ending that was both appropriate and admirable.

These were some amazing movies and this one in particular is the best, in my opinion. As whole, the Lord Of The Rings is a phenomenon. An absolute phenomenon. Much more than just movies. They have a universal appeal and have touched the hearts and imaginations of millions. I'm one of them.

Sorry if I'm being all fanboyish and kissing this movie's ass, but I really admire it. It may not be among my personal favourites but generally this seems to be the movie event of the century. There will never be another Lord of the Rings film, and that's a bit depressing

The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death (2014) A Good Ghost Story

Movieshared.net - I honestly just thought this film was incredible. after watching the first film which was a creepy and jumpy film i went into the second one with low expectations. regards to other reviewers it did rely on cheap jump scares. But i have to say i enjoyed the story line as a whole i found it very interesting and i got stuck into it. being a horror film lover it does take a lot to make me jump, this one did get me quite a few times it had very little tension. It was like the director was just throwing random jump scares very so often and those scares relied on kids jumping out and also crows flight against the window. However during the last 20 minutes you see a few scary faces which are quite creepy, on a whole i gave the money an 8 out 10, it was a really interesting and jumpy sequel it was a lot of fun to watch i would recommend it to see your friends and family jump a lot :)

Watch The Woman in Black (2012) online - Super scary and super fun film!

Movieshared.net - Occasional hints of the terror that is yet to come. There's no gore or cheap tricks, just scares in the best tradition of traditional ghost stories. In one scene a shot of an open door manages to cause hairs on the back of the neck to stand up. The story harks back to the M.R. James ghost stories with a well meaning man unleashing a malevolent force, in this case the Woman In Black herself.

This is one of the creepiest, spookiest ghost stories ever filmed. Adapted from Susan Hill's book of the same title, the tale centres around a young lawyer sent to settle the estate of a deceased old lady. At the funeral, he sees what he thinks is another mourner, a woman dressed all in black. When he mentions this to others however, he gets a strange reaction and quickly realises all is not as it seems. Whenever this woman appears, so local legend says, a child will die. From then on, things become more and more tense as he becomes haunted by this mysterious woman. This production uses no special effects or fancy sets and to be honest, I think it would have detracted from the film if there had been. Instead, the viewer is left to concentrate purely on the story which becomes increasingly tense as it develops. There are several moments that will make you jump or send a shiver through you. Watch it alone with the lights off if you dare!

Watch World War Z (2013) DVD Quality - Pretty good, action packed, well made zombie film

I was dubious! The rating, the early reviews, my love of gory George Romero movies had all led me to deciding not to see this. But, my wife wanted to go... Well, two breathless hours later I turned to her, big grin on my face and had to state "That was awesome!" Yes, I can see why people don't like it. It is very different to the traditional zombie movie, and very different to the book. But you know what, who cares - it's not a traditional zombie movie, or the book - it's different. So suck it it up whiners and enjoy this for what it is! (And I'm a huge fan of all Max Brooks zombie books.) The movie begins with a short intro to the main character and his family (it was enough, it told me all I needed to know) before launching into a fantastic, break neck sequence that establishes the pace for most of the rest of the movie. It's violent, visceral and shocking without any reliance in gore. The tension is racked up (especially in the escape from the apartment block sequence) with a series of spectacular set pieces (the walls of Jerusalem scene is brilliant) and things get better and bigger until the film slows the pace for the final reel with a slow burning, smaller scale sequence set in a WHO research lab in the UK. It's an unusual choice to end a movie with the smallest set piece, but it worked well for me as it was in line with Gerry's quest and the (stated in the movie) fact that the answer is often so small it gets overlooked. The gravity of the decisions Gerry has to make here are greater than any previously in the movie (where mostly he just has to run like hell!) and it's that that makes this such a powerful set piece to end the movie. I learnt several things from this movie 1) to let go of my preconceptions about what a zombie film should be, 2) that a low rating doesn't mean its for kids - I have two sons and despite the lack of gore I certainly wouldn't let then see this. Its very intense and that (not the gore) is what would scare them. 3) to go with the flow - I did here and was swept along for a rapid fire 2 hour thrill ride that was a hell of a lot of fun. I for one will be getting this on blu ray and I'll be first in line for any sequel.

Watch Septic Man (2013) Live Stream

Before I begin, I am not connected to this movie in any way (check my other 100 or so reviews and you'll see) but I need to make that clear before I give it the review Im about to (in case Im accused of that).

Firstly, this film has got nothing to do with The Toxic Avenger which another reviewer here seems to think it should have been (?), Im really not sure why that is. Maybe he just reads a movie title and decides what its going to be about by that, but I really don't think thats a smart way to approach cinema and I (for one) am so glad it wasn't some terrible flick by the cheesemongers at Troma as its miles above their output in terms of quality.

The film opens with an outbreak of a water-born disease where a sewage system worker (hes known as the septic man as its a logo on his van) is approached to find the source and deal with it given an offer of a large sum of money. He enters the underground tunnels soon after, and quickly finds himself locked into a tank underground, where his problems really begin.

While the singular elements of Septic Man may not be original on their own, what is original and fresh is how they're strung together. Be advised that this is NOT a horror comedy, in fact its quite dark, twisted, and disturbing at times, with a grim harsh plot running most of the way through. Its written by Tony Burgess, who also wrote the fantastic Pontypool (2008) and its likely if you found that slow going then this movie might not suit you either. Luckily many horror fans have progressed beyond watching a man in a mask chase teens through a forest however so we welcome anything with a modicum of the different. And I loved this film, in fact its quickly moved into my top ten horror films of the year along with the likes of Under The Skin, Found, The Borderlands, Dead Snow 2 etc.

I suggest you go into Septic man not thinking you know what its about, and if you have the ability to watch a film while enjoying a build up in tension and story without it all being laid on a plate for you I think you'll love it. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. There have been so many mediocre horror films this year (Lord of Tears, Cross Bearer, The Cemetery etc) that its great when something comes along you thought might just be another. Septic Man is indeed a great new horror film that's an asset to the genre and one long standing horror fans (30yrs for me) will enjoy.
