Horrible Bosses 2, A Laugh-Riot!

 A sequel to the decent Horrible Bosses, 'Horrible Bosses 2' is a much superior & much funnier sequel, that delivers above expectations. I laughed, laughed & laughed!

'Horrible Bosses 2' Synopsis: Dale, Kurt and Nick decide to start their own business but things don't go as planned because of a slick investor, prompting the trio to pull off a harebrained and misguided kidnapping scheme.

'Horrible Bosses 2' gets it right, as there are hardly any major minuses here. Sure, the second-hour, where our ill-fated protagonists plan to execute their plan, could've been shorter, with a better climax. But otherwise, this sequel is a riot. The sequences, one after the other, especially the ones with Horrible Bosses Veterans (Portrayed superbly by Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx & Jennifer Aniston), bring the house down!

Sean Anders & John Morris's Screenplay is brisk, hilarious & interesting. The goings-on barely offer dull moments. Anders Direction, also, is appropriately done. Cinematography is fine. Editing is good.

 

Performance-Wise: Jason Bateman, one of the finest actors in the block, delivers a truly committed performance, yet again! Charlie Day is first-rate, he contributes to some of the film's funniest bits enormously. Jason Sudeikis supports very well. Christoph Waltz deserved more scope, nonetheless, he's passable. Chris Pine is fantastic. He enacts the comedic baddie to perfection.

On the whole, 'Horrible Bosses 2' is one great laugh! Go, have fun!

Yves Saint Laurent (2014) Streaming - An excellent companion piece to L'Amour Fou

I have just watched Yves Saint Laurent and found it to be a visually sumptuous film which totally captures the dying days of the elite formal couture houses before bursting into the hedonism of modern global fashion brands. An excellent companion piece to L'Amour Fou (2010), giving an insight into the tempestuous but private relationship between YSL and Pierre Bergé through the pitch perfect acting of Pierre Niney (Yves) and Guillaume Gallienne (Pierre).

The film charts YSL's career from his early years at Dior in the late 1950s through to his iconic Ballet Russes collection of 1976. The world of the late 1950s is perfectly captured with elegant Dior designs, stylish models and a jazz score that matched the chic Parisian apartments the characters inhabit.

In one such apartment Yves meets Pierre Bergé, the man he will spend the rest of his life with both privately and professionally. For Pierre is the man who orchestrates the creation of YSL as a couture house. He gives Yves the confidence to "create on my own terms" and show the world his own particular view of feminine beauty and elegance.

Their relationship mirrors Giancarlo Giammetti and Valentino Garavani who together also created an iconic fashion house and sustained a personal relationship for over 50 years. Their story too is wonderfully and humorously captured in the documentary The Last Emperor (2008). However, one is left with a sense that Giancarlo and Valentino had a much more stable relationship to that of Yves and Pierre. The YSL movie captures during the 1960/70s Yves' erratic excesses with drugs and sex and Pierre's jealousy and need for control.

But this expose of their difficult relationship in no way detracts from the exquisite design throughout the movie. From the elegant, well documented interiors of Yves and Pierre's Parisian apartments, to the bohemian Moroccan lifestyle they enjoyed with the likes of Loulou de la Falaise and Karl Lagerfeld.
This film was a joy to watch with a standout performance by Pierre Niney

The Counselor (2013) Be your own judge

Was so very reluctant to go see this due to the amount of extremely negative reviews, glad I didn't listen.

The Counselor (2013)

Like all of you I was drawn to the writer, director & cast combination which told me this film had a chance at greatness, well I'm not so sure about greatness but this is a very good movie, one which both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed.

The plot is secondary, only the story outline is necessary ("honest citizen" buys into a onetime drug deal which goes bad and there are serious consequences) to act as a framework around the events that unfold. We do not need details of who, what , where or when regarding the drug deal, we only need to see the greed and the evil it leads to, play out.

Yes the dialogue is metaphorical, gloriously so, and the actors deliver this as it was intended to be delivered by the writer and the director. This dialogue is superb in setting the ominous tone for the film, we do not need to know who is picking up what and delivering to whom, we only need to know that it didn't happen and somebody has to pay, pay a price beyond imagining! While there are moments of amusement, it is a deadly serious morality tale that does not play out to our long established preconceptions. Decisions today can make for impossible decisions and terrifying consequences tomorrow.

Do not judge, rate or review this film within the traditional confines of typical Hollywood movies, as it barely applies, maybe it does to the star power but not to the content nor the execution.

Nightcrawler (2014) Deutch subtitle

Dit is een van de weinige films die me heeft gehouden in mijn stoel van het begin tot het einde toe zelfs wanneer halverwege ik hard nodig om de badkamer te bezoeken. De verhaallijn, script, filmen en acteren te combineren tot de perfecte storm van een briljante film. Jake Gyllenhaal speelt een personage, op wat ik alleen maar kan omschrijven als aan de bovenkant van het autistisch spectrum en verdient een Oscar nominatie voor deze rol. Zijn karakter is perfect afgestemd door Rene Russo het spelen van de rol van haar carrière als het succes op zoek naar veroudering nieuws editor. En een schreeuw ook voor Riz Ahmed als Rick, assistent Gyllenhaal. Wat een contrast met "The Judge" die ik zag vorige week, "Nightcrawler" is superieur op elk niveau, gaan zien!

If you take the slick look of Drive and the satirical wit of Network, you get Nightcrawler. This film is a genius first film for director Dan Gilroy, it is darkly comedic, surprisingly disturbing and is brilliantly acted. The film tells the story of Lou Bloom, a freelance videographer who covers the crime world in LA for a local news station and ruthless editor played by Rene Russo. It isn't before long until Bloom's demented job overtakes his life, making him colder and colder the deeper he goes. The film plays like a twisted bloody version of Network and has the satirical wit to back it up. Jake Gyllenhaal is utterly fantastic in this film. Lou Bloom is a role that he is completely submerged in and it oozes through every frame as our dislike for Bloom intensifies throughout the film. But what this film does best is not make us particularly like Bloom but it makes us wonder what he is willing to do next. And trust me, his actions get as sick and as shocking as they come. Bloom is a depraved individual and Jake Gyllenhaal deserves a hell of a lot acknowledgment for this role because he pulls off the tricky task of making the audience care about a character that is truly unlikeable and does so with not one false note. It is truly mesmerizing to see. The supporting cast including Rene Russo and Bill Paxton are absolutely great in this film and deliver career bests here. The cinematography also is top notch here, blending the awesome pallets of Drive with a bitter cold makes for an engaging view and makes it hard for you to peel your eyes from the screen. Writer/Director Dan Gilroy is someone to watch, especially coming out of the gates with a film filled with sheer and raw velocity like this one. It is not only an impressive first film but a brilliant film all around. I highly recommend it.

Ex Machina movies - Excellent, thought-provoking, fascinating

Given the large amount of television and film dedicated to A.I. I was surprised to find another film that could bring something new to the table. What we have here is a fascinating film which explores the complicated issue of artificial intelligence, and the morals and ethics attached to the idea. Expect the problems presented in this film to occupy current affairs over the next decade.

Ex Machina is a touching story, carried excellently by its two male lead characters and their robot, played with childlike wonder and tingling sexuality by Alicia Vikander.

Yes, there are plenty of other films out there which try to explore the concept of artificial intelligence, but don't be put off. This is no retread of Star Trek's Data or Arnold's Terminator from T2.
Just see it for yourself, you won't be disappointed.

An excellent and thought provoking film.

Review :

The film moves at a good pace throughout getting to the main storyline early on. The most noticeable aspects of the film early on are the location, sets and special affects.

Though the main character, Ava, has an attractive human face it is quite clear from the rest of her body that she is indeed a machine. This is central to the role and storyline, I shall say no more as to why.

Domhnall Gleeson plays 'Caleb' and takes us through the film, leading us along the way to a conclusion that is eventually twisted at the end. Though he is very good in the role he is over shadowed by Oscar Isaac (Nathan) who created Ava, superbly played by Alicia Vikander, who over shadows them both.

I have seen that there are some exciting films being released this year but they will have to go a very long way to better this one. 

Joe (2013) The Return of Nicolas Cage

 

I couldn't help but notice how much J-O-E is similar (or at least as simple as) to a D-O-G. The film is more than just a glimpse into the life of a man who does know how to live, but I was wondering if he served more as a metaphor for everyone of us as a part of the human race who live better when we're on a leash. Nicolas Cage plays the title character as a man who can smile and have fun, but lives off the leash. He'd be a good dog to the extent that he will always do the right thing. Just don't mess with him. Or his friends. "Joe" has been the movie event of the festival. It plays a dramatic chord through notes of laughter and some extreme intensity (seriously, of "Gravity" caliber). The violence is strong (the 60-year-old man next to me had to look away during one scene in particular), and the acting is subtle (realistic). Nic Cage, in his conversation at the SXSW Film Festival, spoke about his wife telling him that this role was as close as he's gotten to his real persona. I found it more along the lines of "Leaving Las Vegas." If you're reading that right, you should be expecting Nic Cage do start doing lower-budget movies (this was made for $6 Million, I believe). This is what he wants to do now (I quote him personally), and I believe this could be the start of a sustainable career toward what we might come to know as a legacy. Nicolas Cage, you should know, is the ideal movie star. He knows how to live, and he knows how to be kind. This is his return to form while there may be a *wink* or two in this film at what he's known as on this wild thing called the "internet." Still, he's not really like any other movie star, and there will never be anyone known as "the next Nicolas Cage." He is truly one-of-a-kind. As is this film. "Joe" is a simple story of simple people. There are many minor characters who just seem to exist in this world. There is one scene of him looking over to see a couple in a jeep next to him. I felt this might have been out of place, although the two made eye contact and it granted a laugh from the audience. What I wanted was this scene to be a metaphor for was a life Joe could have had. He doesn't like being messed with, especially when nobody has a reason to mess with him. He doesn't give them one, but when he fights back at them, the consequences are played out throughout the film. The editing lets the actors breath and the music lets the atmosphere live. Shot around Austin, an audience member (that same 60-year-old man) told me that the director, David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express), grabbed a few people off a bus, and gave them starring roles. They serve as decay of human beings. We're shown the lowest of the low, and it will make you angry to see what people are capable of doing to each other. I don't believe people are happier on a leash. When we're told what to do, we may be rewarded with food, but at the end of the day, it's the connection to each other that makes us want to wake up again. Dogs play a major role in this film to the extent that one serves as a major character. In the final moments (No spoiler, I promise), there is a tear-jerking scene that lets you know that we can find happiness and peace. We see the dog in the front seat, happy with it's tongue out for the first time in the film, as opposed to the brute-ready-to-fight we've come to know in the back of Joe's truck. All we need in life is to be raised well. On that note, Tye Sheridan's (from "Mud" (2012) with Matthew McConaughey) part is played tough, but his deadbeat abusive father has become such a bad influence, and Gary is smart enough to know not to follow in his footsteps. This film was nearly perfect, but sadly still not made for everyone. I hope, when it's finally released worldwide to audiences everywhere, I'm wrong about that, and audiences see it. It's an important film, as well as very entertaining.

It's the average Jennifer Lopez movie - The Boy Next Door (2015)

This is not a good movie by any stretch of the imagination. The plot is trite, the characters thinly drawn, the dialogue inane and the acting is more wooden than Pinocchio. Clearly it's just a vanity project for Jennifer Lopez.

There are some very strange elements that occur during the movie which lead me to think that perhaps a lot of content was left on the cutting room floor. Heck, if they wanted to create quality I think they should have left the whole movie on the floor! This film bills itself as an erotic thriller...Trust me, there's nothing erotic or thrilling about this film.

All that said though, I almost died of laughter watching this, and for that, I'm giving it two out of ten stars. If you want to have a good laugh, either with friends or by yourself, you could do worse than 'THE BOY NEXT DOOR'.

The Imitation Game (2014) Ticks all the boxes

 

www.movieshared.net - I'll make my review short. Go see this. It has all the elements of a great movie from the acting to the score by Alexandre Desplat. Excellent script and delivery. It was well received at TIFF 14 where it was named People's Choice. The cast members really gelled on screen. It was well edited because the pace of the movie did not lag at any time. When watching this you will quickly realize that these actors (Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode, Mark Strong, Allen Leech) will be around for a long time entertaining us. If you like A Beautiful Mind or even Good Will Hunting, you will enjoy this. It comes out in November 2014. Don't miss it. This one is Oscar worthy.

Whiplash (2014) Wow just wow. Easily one of the greatest films of the year

www.movieshared.net - There is so many excellent great things to say about this film. To start off I will say it may be slow and to different for some to enjoy and so that I warn you. Now I will say that I can not express the idea enough of how surprising this film is. Jk Simmons does an outstanding performance as the highly unpredictable hair trigger tempered teacher Fletcher, Miles Teller an actor who I've only seen in mediocre comedies also shines in a breakthrough performance as the ambitious drummer Andrew. The performance are outstanding and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

My favorite thing about this film is how it has created it's own one of a kind spot in the music genre of film, it's atmosphere is unlike any other as well. The idea that this film is one of a kind can't be stressed enough, I guarantee you cannot find another film out there like this. This film expresses a shockingly high intensity for a music film. I believe that Jk Simmons acting is what fueled a lot of the intensity. When you watch this film even though it's pace will seem slow to most it's intensity is impossible to miss.

I can see how a lot of certain people may find this film hard to enjoy but for me this film as slow as it is couldn't have been more intense. The mere fact that a music film shows some strong intensity like this one did is mind blowing to me. I don't know how many of you had this same experience or something similar then you already know what I'm talking about. I have a good feeling and I'm hopeful this film rakes in some acting Oscars because this film deserves at least one. I haven't read anything on this films page and I'm sure others have expressed similar opinions and all I can say is listen and trust me. I'm praying you enjoy this film and experience it's one of a kind intensity just as I did. Thanks for reading my review and enjoy.

Interstellaire (2014) Live streaming - Un Odysse humain à cœur ouvert et maîtrisé

www.movieshared.net  - Interstellar 'était incroyable. Les visuels, le score, le jeu des acteurs, tout est fantastique. L'intrigue est certainement l'un des plus originale que je ai vu dans un certain temps. La plupart des recensions critiques ont dit que certains morceaux sont un peu trop incroyable, mais je suis pas d'accord. Oui, il y avait certaines parties qui étaient vraiment dans la partie "fi" de la science-fiction. Mais la chose est, offres 'Interstellar »avec des concepts que nous connaissons très peu. Nous ne avons aucune idée de ce que la dimension 4ème ou 5ème est comme, ou ce que ce serait comme de passer par un trou de ver ou un trou noir. Je ne pense pas qu'il soit juste d'appeler quelque chose d'incroyable, quand nous ne avons absolument aucune idée de ce que serait crédible dans ces circonstances. De toute façon, l'écriture excellente des frères Nolan. Les visuels étaient en circulation, et seront sans doute en nomination pour un Oscar. Les performances ont été excellentes, mais rien Oscar digne, comme ce est le cas avec la plupart des films de Nolan («The Dark Knight» étant l'exception évidente). Le score de Hans Zimmer était incroyable et mélangé parfaitement avec le film. Dans l'ensemble, «Interstellar» est un excellent film, qui je pense personnellement est le plus beau film de Nolan à ce jour.

Nebraska is het verhaal van een familie van gebruikelijke dysfunctionals wonen waar anders maar Nebraska - een rustige, afgelegen vader met een beetje dementie, Woody (Bruce Dern), zijn twee zonen, David en Ross (Will Forte en Bob Odenkirk), en hun voortdurend klaagt moeder Kate (juni Squibb). David verkoopt home-elektronica en net uitgemaakt met zijn vriendin; Ross werkt voor een nieuwszender en verving onlangs het "talent" up front.

De huidige grote probleem is dat Woody iets wat lijkt op een Publisher's Clearing House certificaat hem te vertellen dat hij gewonnen heeft een miljoen dollar heeft ontvangen. Alles wat hij moet doen is kopen deze tijdschriften en controleer of de getallen zijn zijn. Alle Woody ziet is dat hij won een miljoen dollar. Niemand zal hem naar Lincoln om zijn prijs op te eisen, zodat hij begint te lopen - meer dan ooit - tot David zegt dat hij zal hem nemen.

Op de weg, ze stoppen door geboortestad van zijn ouders en drop in op Woody's broer en zijn gezin - een enge bos. Kate neemt een bus in en toont David rond de begraafplaats in een scène die u nooit zult vergeten, geloof me. Woody loopt in zijn oude partner, Ed (Stacy Keach), en als woord verspreidt dat Woody gaat om een miljonair te zijn, iedereen wil een stukje van hem, waaronder Ed, die zegt Woody is hem wel een beetje.

Dit is echt een karakter-gedreven film, met enkele van de meest levendige, nader uitgewerkte personages ooit op het scherm en een aantal van de sterkst landschappen, gefilmd in zwart-wit, en geven de kijker het gevoel van hoe het is om te leven onder mijl en mijlen van landbouwgronden afgewisseld met kleine steden.

Bruce Dern geeft een Oscar-waardige prestaties als een levenslange alcoholist die ontsnapt is in zichzelf, een man uit het contact en schijnbaar onaangetast door alle gebeurtenissen om hem heen. Zoals de uitgesproken Kate, juni Squibb is absoluut hilarisch - altijd schreeuwen tegen Woody, dreigen hem in een huis gezet, klagen over hem, maar gewoon laat niemand te profiteren van hem, of je te maken hebben met haar.

De zonen spiegelen hun ouders, met David rustig en bedachtzaam, maar proberen om band met zijn vader, en Ross, meer vertrouwen en minder sympathiek.

In het leren over de achtergrond van zijn vader, in een gesprek met zijn oude vriendin (Angela McEwan) David begint aan de man die zijn vader ooit was en wat hem gevormde zien. En hij komt erachter dat liefde soms een onuitgesproken ding, maar het is er allemaal hetzelfde.

Een prachtige film, krachtig in zijn eenvoud. Mis het niet.

Birdman (2014) the greatest movies of the year

www.movieshared.net - Great opening at the Venice Film Festival with this must-see movie. The story of an actor persecuted by the role that made him popular, "Birdman", and pressured by the willing of proving himself on stage with his new play.

The characters in the story are all struggling with something: Sam (Emma Stone) with her drug addiction, Mike (Edward Norton) with his sexual problems, Lesley (Naomi Watts) with her self- realization and Michael Keaton with love. What kind of love is he lacking? Is it admiration for his work? The same admiration that chained him to Bridman, who is probably the only one capable of saving him.

The cinematography reminds of that used in Hitchcock's "Rope": it seems to be filmed consequently. The originality of the cinematography, though, may have sacrificed the storyline.

"Birdman" certainly needs to be seen more than one, but likewise certainly it's going to be one of the greatest movies of the year

Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014) See it if you wanna see how far a film can be disappointing

Seems like there's a tendency in Hollywood that Prophet films need to be tied up natural causes, a little bit self-interpretations of main character's imagination which can be mistaken by the Creator's will etc, All these turns out to be a very boring prophet film when you claim it as a prophet film. So Rather see this film as another version of historical boring fiction... Moses has a very rich story in all Abrahim religions and finally in Quran, having not seen those points presented and carried properly, makes the film a bit shallow... Definitely you don't need to see this film in 3D at cinemas.

Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015) Vaughn is Let Loose

People will have interesting reactions to this film. All of Matthew Vaughn's movies have been good, and he was able to push it further with this one. I would call it an action comedy, but there is more of an emphasis on the action than the genre usually has.
There are cool POV shots, and it gets you right into the thick of it. It mixes it up with some short moments where it doesn't cut so quickly, as well as a few long takes that are particular nice. The violence and comedy has a guttural component, which a person like me really enjoys, but it will throw some off.

Kingsman: The Secret Service online

The film is a throwback to old spy flicks, while at the same time being a sort of parody. It is humorous throughout. Samuel L. Jackson plays an odd megalomaniac who makes you laugh more than shiver, which goes with the tone of the movie. It is nice to see Samuel L. in the role of a bad guy. I have no doubt that many will enjoy the henchwoman, who has a different element to her. Colin Firth fits in with the particularly suave spying; and, the newcomer playing the protagonist, Taron Egerton, handles both the action and comedy well. Mark Strong is always a good actor for movies with dark humor. It is fun, however those who are sensitive may have trouble enjoying it. It is not a film for everyone, but that makes it better for others. I personally think it is Vaughn's best work.

The main subject is so absurd that could only be real. Hart's character Jimmy is a "BEST FRIEND FOR HIRE" (some scenes show him doing speeches in different places making people laugh, smile or cry). Gad's Doug is a lonely hard working but uninteresting person ; incapable of convince any of his acquaintances to attend the wedding. The problem is that there are only two weeks left and he already created an imaginary profile of his non-existent friends. Doug finds about Jim and ask him to provide services as BF plus get another 6 more friends. The task is far from simple; but Jim take it as a challenge (and for a substantial amount of money) but explain Doug that this is a business relation; there is no real friendship here and everything is just a lie. Most of the gags are visual but still there is a lot of swearing and some gross jokes just on the lower limit of bad taste. Many funny situations occur; none of them forced. There are no scenes of Hart alone doing some silly routine just to fill time (as in many other comedies). In fact; the moments he is alone; is on serious situations and his acting is superb. There are some jokes so unexpected and savages that you will keep laughing even out of the cinema. In general; the pace is quite balanced and the ending predictable but not 100%. In any case it is the logical ending. If you think about the idea of BF for hire; is quite realistic. Children in USA schools are separated from their friends every year since PRE-K to HIGH SHOOL (apparently to avoid gangs). How could it be possible to have a "BEST FRIEND" when your only opportunity is in college or perhaps in your neighborhood (which is not always likely). So; if you do not have something that really cares for you; how do you expect somebody to take care of the pretty absurd wedding protocols like dinner rehearsals, speech preparation (or even videos), tuxedos rentals, decorations and food (even sauce) testings plus the bachelor party. This movie was written and directed by the writers (one of them) of "THE BREAK UP"; a comedy I laughed a lot but had a lot between the lines. Well this one will make you laugh even more; but the main themes are tough.

What is really a wedding ? A celebration of love or just a big farewell party for people who do not want to be alone anymore without really love involved. Why we dedicate our lives to material things and success and loss our youth years ?. In brief; this is best comedy I saw in many years; but talks about a lot of serious issues. Do not loss time and see it.

Paddington (2014) Great Fun for the Whole Family

From the trailers, I had low expectations for this movie. I only went to see it because of the positive reviews and I am glad I did. This was a really fun movie with some great performances from the likes of Hugh Bonneville (Mr. Brown), Ben Whishlaw (Paddington) and Julie Walters (Mrs. Bird) to name a few. The movie had a good and enjoyable mix of slapstick and subtle comedy. Although I found the story very predictable, I can't really fault it for that as it was still enjoyable and worked for this movie.

 

This movie is fun for both kids and adults. It's funny, heart-warming, well written and acted and I walked out entertained.

Taken 3 (2014) Not a bad end to a fun trilogy

 

www.movieshared.net - Taken 3 is a step down from Taken 2, itself a lesser film than the original. But that is to be expected and forgiven. The title could be considered an unimaginative misnomer, but it makes marketing sense.

Aside from the part of Stuart (husband to Famke Janssen's Lenore), the casting is consistent. The addition of Forest Whitaker as a smart cop is for me something of a saving grace since Taken 3 offers up absurdities without question. On reflection, however, the plot has enough coherence to do the trilogy justice. Moreover, it is a joy to see Liam Neeson in this role again.

The director Olivier Megaton has an irksome penchant for frenetic, up-close, disorienting action sequences whereby shots are rarely longer than two seconds. He was a little better in this regard for Taken 2, which had the benefit of superior choreography.

Another personal point of contention is the casting of Sam Spruell as the top Russian villain. He has not an imposing physical constitution and quite frankly brings to mind Jim Carrey, who sported the same haircut in the Dumb and Dumber movies. Not at all what I want in a villain.

Film Blackhat (2015) A good movie about the blackhat world

www.movieshared.net - First, we intended to see a movie about hackers and computers, not superhero fantasy and aliens from another world. It's a good thing too, because that's what this movie is about.

I enjoyed the filming style, it really set the mood which was much more interestingly done with only available light throughout the movie. I kept finding myself trying to figure out how Mann got that grainy look. I was constantly impressed with the scene's ultra realistic appearance.

I thought the story held true and, like the acting, wasn't overblown. The characters were all well crafted to be a mix of attributes with the challenges of being less than superheroes and still managing to accomplish the task at hand in a real world. I appreciate a movie which sets out to have the gritty realism of real life then portrays the story as something that can really happen. Mann and cast did exceptionally well at portraying the involved cultures (American, Chinese, Malay, Indonesian) as they actually are without resorting to some caricature stereotype often seen.

In short, Blackhat is believable, dramatic, realistic and scary in it's potential accuracy. Good story, good acting, good realism and really great camera work. I am thankful we ignored the reviews from the video gaming crowd and went to see this one anyway. We walked to the car thoroughly entertained having seen this one!

American Sniper (2015) Powerful and Poignant

I don't give a flying crap about anybody's politics when it comes to making movies. If they're great films, they're great films period. I've been in the film Industry for 33 years and I was deeply impressed with Eastwood's take on a story of constant moral dilemma, vs Patriotic duty.

Here's a guy that was motivated to defend our world and country against Psychotic Terrorists killing innocent people all over the world...while living on the edge of fatherhood. The inner conflict and balance of creating such a powerful reality, was right on the money.
Eastwood, Cooper and the screenwriter made a great team...which eventually became a great film.
